I Remember

"I Remember" is the name of the Sunny Hills Percussion Ensemble's 2020 indoor production. The show revolves around the poem “I Remember, I Remember” by Thomas Hood, and is built up of three movements. Each movement is supposed to use a different artistic medium to interpret the same theme; a minimalist painting, a spoken word message accompanied by video, and a sculpture.

I was commissioned to illustrate several pieces of the set design for this production, including the graphics for the show floor, the backdrops, and the minimalist paintings that are a core aspect of the first movement. When working on these illustrations, we were looking to tie all of the pieces of the show together, including the artistic mediums, the member costumes, and the set design, and we did this by working with a unified color scheme and visual language.
